Three friends seen hugging each other moments before being swept away in flash flood

Final Moments Captured Three friends were tragically swept away by a flash flood in Italy, moments after being seen hugging each other. The heartbreaking footage, shared on X, shows Patrizia Cormos, 20, Bianca Doros, 23, and Cristian Molnar, 25, standing thigh-deep in the turbulent Natisone River.

Desperate Rescue Attempts The group was stranded on a small pebble island when the water levels surged. Despite alerting passersby and firefighters arriving quickly, the rescue attempts failed. “We threw them a rope, but they were literally swallowed up by the flood waters in front of our eyes. We watched them disappear,” recounted Giorgio Basile, chief of the provincial firefighters in Udine.

Bodies Discovered On Sunday, June 2, two bodies, believed to be Patrizia Cormos and Bianca Doros, were found about a kilometer from their last known location. Cristian Molnar remains missing. The search has intensified with drones, boats, and divers scouring the river.

Background of the Victims Bianca Doros, originally from Romania, was visiting her parents in Italy. Patrizia Cormos, a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Udine, had joined her friends to celebrate a significant exam.

Rapidly Changing Conditions The mayor of Premariacco, Michele De Sabata, highlighted the unpredictable nature of the river: “The three kids arrived when it was sunny. They could not have known what was about to happen. It only took minutes.”
